The coming year promises to be a very exciting one for EuroTimes, official news magazine of the ESCRS. While our main focus continues to be on cataract and refractive surgery, we will also have extensive coverage of the other major specialties – retina, cornea, glaucoma and paediatric ophthalmology.

As always, we will be bringing you the latest news and views from major international conferences, including the 21st ESCRS Winter Meeting in Maastricht, The Netherlands, the ASCRS•ASOA Symposium & Congress in Los Angeles, USA, the European Society of Ophthalmology meeting in Barcelona, Spain, the 17th EURETINA Congress in Barcelona, the 8th EuCornea Congress in Lisbon, Portugal and the XXXV Congress of the ESCRS in Lisbon.

Our schedule will also include the annual AAO 2017 meeting in New Orleans, USA and  the 4th WCPOS in Hyderabad, India.

For further details on all these meetings visit

There are now more than 170 videos available on the ESCRS Video Player, submitted by key opinion leaders in ophthalmology from all over the world. In 2017, we will be adding more videos to our ever-expanding library.

In 2016, EuroTimes won the Magazines Ireland award for the Business To Business Magazine of the Year (over 5,000 circulation) for the second year in a row.

The judges said the magazine demonstrated commercial credibility and integrity coupled with great ambition and growth.

This year we plan to build on this success with some exciting new features, both online, on our website at and in our social media portfolio including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

We wish all our readers, contributors and advertisers a happy and prosperous 2017 and look forward to hearing from you in the coming months. This is your magazine, so please contact me at if you have any ideas about how we can improve the magazine.
