EuCornea president Friedrich Kruse who presented the Poster Awards at the Opening Ceremony of the 8th EuCornea Congress   The poster entries for the 8th EuCornea Congress attained a very high standard and is a clear indication of the vitality of research in the field of cornea and ocular surface, said Friedrich Kruse, President of EuCornea at the presentation of the Poster Awards during the EuCornea opening ceremony in Lisbon. First prize this year went to Rénuka Birbal for her poster entitled “Dark endothelial spots after Descemet's membrane endothelial keratoplasty may impose as recurrent Fuchs dystrophy”. Joint second prize went to David Cordeiro Sousa for “Flight cabin-induced hypoxemia affects intraocular pressure and central corneal thickness” and Alberto Villarrubia for “DALK small Bubble technique assisted with femtosecond Laser”. This year’s third prize went to Jorge Alió del Barrio for his poster “Cellular therapy with human autologous adipose-derived adult stem cells for advanced keratoconus.”
