The OCULUS Corvis® ST combines tonometry and pachymetry with the biomechanical response of the cornea in a new and exciting way, the company says.
“It is the first instrument enabling ophthalmologists to perform fast and comprehensive screenings for biomechanically weak corneas,” said a company spokeswoman.
“Furthermore, the integration of Pentacam® data allows combining biomechanical and tomographic data for a more efficient and safer screening prior to refractive surgery,” she added.

NEW GENERATION
Vitreq has launched a new generation of vitrectomy lenses.
“Comprised of optically crystal-clear PMMA, Vitreq’s vitrectomy lenses have a high refraction index, creating excellent intraocular visualisation,” said a company spokesman.
“A highly stable position on the eye can be achieved thanks to a flexible silicone ring (injection), moulded with four surrounding haptics,” he added. There is a range of lenses for any surgical needs requiring specific, enhanced visualisation in the posterior of the eye. A 30o prism provides a clearer view of posterior peripheral fundus/vitreous beyond equator in phakic, aphakic and pseudophakic eyes.

CE MARK
Eyenuk Inc., developer of advanced retinal image analysis solutions to identify eye disease, has announced receipt of the CE Mark and the launch of the second generation of its EyeArt fully automated diabetic retinopathy (DR) screening software.
The company plans to roll out EyeArt 2.0 to selected, leading eye care centres in Europe over the next few months, said a company spokesman.
The commercial launch is supported by a new study of the EyeArt 2.0 technology, which demonstrated 98.3 per cent sensitivity in identifying potentially treatable patients with severe non-proliferative or proliferative DR, and/or the presence of surrogate markers for CSME.
