Record attendance at XXVII ESCRS Congress in Barcelona
Thousands of delegates are gathering in Barcelona, Spain this week for the XXVII Congress of the ESCRS.
This year’s congress, which also incorporates the World Congress of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (WCPOS), is taking place in the CCIB Congress Centre in the vibrant capital of Catalonia.
Pre-registration information and early on site registratiion indicates that this year’s event will be one of the largest ESCRS congresses to date, with over 6,000 ophthalmologists, nurses and technicians from more than 80 countries expected to attend.
As ever, this year’s congress offers the usual full schedule of activities and events to keep the delegates busy, with over 90 courses, eight ESCRS symposia, live surgery sessions, more than 1,000 free papers, hundreds of posters and an exciting variety of social events. There are also numerous industry-sponsored satellite symposia, scheduled so as not to conflict with the daily sessions, and a first-class industry exhibition featuring a huge range of ophthalmic equipment and services from leading companies.
