For posterior lamellar keratoplasty: New DSAEK/DSEK Instrument Set
Recently, new technologies in posterior lamellar keratoplasty have been developed to treat patients with endothelial cornea diseases.
One of the most promising technique is expected to be the posterior lamellar keratoplasty DSAEK/DSEK – Descemet stripping (automated) endothelial keratoplasty.
With this procedure only the damaged endothelial cornea with the Descemet's membrane (descementorhexis) is removed.
After that, the donor tissue with the endothelial cornea is transplanted into the anterior chamber. The key benefits of DSAEK/DSEK is the fast
recovery of the patient and reduced astigmatism.
