The Swiss-based BVgroup has acquired, together with existing shareholders and further investors, 21.6 per cent of the shares of Ziemer Group AG from former shareholders HBM BioVentures and M2 Capital Partners.
A Zeimer Group spokesman said an additional injection of capital for fueling the company's future growth will occur in January 2010.
The Ziemer family will remain the
majority shareholder of Ziemer Group AG.
BV Holding will increase its share from formerly 7.2 per cent to 19.3 per cent after the capital increase.
Frank Ziemer, president and CEO, and representative of the majority owner family, said with BVgroup, Ziemer had found a partner with experience in the med-tech business and with a long-term orientation.
"With the help of the increased capital, Ziemer Group will be able to accelerate the expansion of international sales and service, and to fuel new product development projects," he said.
