While the ESCRS Congress is not convening in Amsterdam, that doesn’t mean there won’t be any entertainment on hand after the virtual presentations are finished for the day. On Friday night October 2 at 20.00 Lucas & Steve, Europe’s most uplifting DJs, will play an exclusive gig for ESCRS 2020 delegates.

The duo hail from Maastricht, home of ESCRS President Rudy MMA Nuijts MD, PhD. Tapping into the rich history of dance music in the Netherlands, Lucas & Steve explore glorious melodies and emotive sounds in their music, bringing a smile to your face and making sure to move your feet.

Over the past few years their singles have been huge successes, but they are on the cusp of releasing their debut album Letters to Remember. Friday night’s set will give an insight into their tastes and their productions, as they lean towards “more mature pop sound with recognisable melodies”.

With six million monthly listeners on Spotify, and hits bringing in tens of millions of plays, and having worked with artists like Armin Van Buuren and Sander Van Doorn, the duo are no strangers to success.

After you enjoy their performance, you one can listen to their weekly radio show ‘Skyline Sessions’ on Dutch national radio 538. Running for several years now, it is syndicated on 57 other radio stations across the world, bringing a weekly slice of euphoria to their international fanbase.

With artists affected by the global pandemic, as venues have closed and large events have been cancelled, many have turned to live streams to connect with their audience. Lucas and Steve recently performed online at the Virtual Mysteryland festival, following elder statesmen Carl Cox and Joris Voorn. Earlier in the year, they celebrated the Dutch national holiday, King’s Day, with a live stream from Paleis Soestdijk, the former palace of the royal family.

This year has brought much pain and difficulty, but music can always bring some relief. Friday night’s performance will show two young artists at the peak of their abilities, bringing joy to delegates tuning in from around the world.
