Prof Rudy MMA Nuijts PhD is President of the ESCRS, Professor of Ophthalmology, Vice-Chairman, and Director of the Cornea Clinic and the Center for Refractive Surgery at the University Eye Clinic Maastricht, Maastricht Medical University, The Netherlands.
He was lead investigator of the ESCRS PREvention of Macular EDema after cataract surgery (PREMED), the first international, multi-centre, randomised, controlled clinical trial specifically designed to answer questions relating to the prevention of CME after cataract surgery in diabetic and non-diabetic patients.
