The Retina Illustrated

For those looking for a “day-to-day guide on the diagnosis and management of routine to complex retinal disorders,” The Retina Illustrated (Thieme) might be the one. This 400-page text is an image-based overview of approximately every retinal condition the general ophthalmologist is likely to encounter during his or her career. Edited by Justis P. Ehlers, the text is part atlas, part reference book that covers each disease in three or four pages in a highly-organised fashion.
Particularly useful is the section on chorioretinal infectious & inflammatory disorders. Including common entities like toxoplasmosis and rare ones like West Nile retinopathy, the excellent photographs helps the practitioner make a diagnosis and start management. This book is appropriate for general ophthalmologists and retina fellows.
